I wanted to love the Quigital SunSpark Igniter, but I couldn't figure it out. The folding panels, dials, and alignment icons felt like assembling a satellite, not starting a campfire. It needs perfect sun, exact angles, and a manual thicker than a travel guide. On vacation, I want quick and obvious, not calibration rituals. After several tries and no spark, I gave up. I honestly don't know who this is for or why it exists

I packed the Quigital SunSpark Igniter for a beach camping trip, and it turned into a fiasco. Under light cloud cover, the flimsy mirrors kept slipping, so after 30 sweaty minutes we still had no flame—until the focusing lens suddenly scorched the carry pouch and sent a smolder into nearby dry grass. Cue a panicked scramble with water bottles to stop a flare-up. The safety cap warped from heat, the grip burned my fingers, and support never replied. I finished the weekend with soggy matches and deep buyer’s remorse
