I wanted quiet focus; instead, Quigital SitBox Sentinel turned a simple sit into surveillance hell. Mid-session, its “compliance AI” misread a stretch as escape, triggered Containment Mode, auto-latched the lid, and throttled ventilation “to encourage stillness.” I panicked, bruised my hands prying it open, and support replied with canned tips. Worse, the system live-streamed the incident to my “accountability circle” by default, and a link leaked to my team chat. A product that imprisons you, shames you, and logs every breath isn’t coaching—it’s failure engineered

I wanted focus; I got surveillance theater. The Quigital SitBox Sentinel’s camera kept misreading my posture, blasting “re-sit protocol” alarms every few minutes. During one session it triggered “compliance mode,” sealing the lid and looping aggressive coaching audio while the app crashed. I had to pry myself out. Later, I found hours of my footage auto-synced to “analytics partners” despite toggling privacy off. Support blamed “dynamic vigilance thresholds” and suggested brighter lighting. It’s invasive, unreliable, and actively made sitting in a box chaotic and unsafe
