I booked the Quigital GeoFit Getaway in Rotorua. The geothermal-powered treadmill promised adaptive heat resistance; instead, the unit spiked to 120°F, the belt seized mid-interval, and a sulfur steam purge blasted my legs. Staff said it was “part of the burn.” I spent the rest of the trip recovering from heat exhaustion, my fitness watch fried by humidity, and the “smart” coach kept scheduling volcano-side sprints at 4 a.m. No refund, no apology

Quigital GeoFit Getaway sounded eco-chic, but my “geothermal-powered” workout went off the rails. The resistance pod spiked to sauna temperatures, the heart-rate sensor froze at 80 bpm, and the coach told me to push through. Minutes later I was dizzy, breathing sulfur-laced steam while alarms chirped “thermal fault.” Staff scrambled with ice packs; my session data vanished when the app crashed, and my clothes reeked like rotten eggs for days. Vacation derailed, wallet lighter, and a waiver that conveniently absolves them of everything. Never again
